Is the hike difficult?
Bromo is an easy 2 km walk, including 250 steps.
Ijen is moderate: a 3 km hike with a steep incline in parts. If needed, a local trolley taxi is available (at an extra cost).

How cold is it?
Very! Temperatures drop to 5–10°C. Bring a warm jacket. Rentals available for IDR 25K in Bromo. After sunrise, temperatures warm up quickly.

Best time to visit?
May to September is dry season. August is the most popular month due to clear skies and great visibility.
